It’s that time of the year again – the first of the MCM London Comic Cons is taking place in a few days time. Advertised as being the UK’s biggest pop culture event, MCM London takes place across the 26th-29th of May 2016.
An action packed weekend featuring a wide range of attractions, MCM comic con is not an event you’d want to miss if you love comics and films – with very special guests, panels, shopping and cosplay what more could you possibly want?
For the kawaii lovers there is a Popasia event running – this is a variety of music, fashion, culture and fun! It even has it’s very own stage for entertainment from guests throughout the weekend. In this section you’ll also be able to find stalls from Tofu Cute, Japan Centre, Fuzzballs and my favourite, JP Books.
After all that shopping, watching and listening, you might find yourself a tad hungry! Don’t worry, Popasia has you covered with a super tasty selection of drinks/snacks or freshly cooked foods from Temaki Hand Roll, Wagashi Japanese Bakery, Japan Centre Foods, Peko Peko, Kamikaze Kitchen and Milk Tea & Pearl.
MCM are also looking for cosplayers from the Fallout franchise! If you are planning on attending in your favourite vault suit, make sure you check out the PopAsia Stage at 15:00 on the Saturday or Sunday and be ready! Bethesda have arranged rewards for cosplayers who have the knowledge, look and great impersonations! There’s even a backdrop for photoshoots – how exciting is that?!
For the first time at MCM London Comic Con, the World Cosplay Summit will be holding its UK qualifier during the Saturday! A team of two cosplayers will be selected from all the entrants to go to the finals in Japan – you can be sure there will be lots of amazing and talented cosplayers from all over the UK in attendance to win a chance to attend the finals.
Personally, this will be my first time attending MCM and I’ll be there on behalf of Cyten to bring you all the kawaii news straight from the event! Come say Hello if you spot me! We love to meet our readers!
Are you attending MCM? What are you most looking forward too? Is there something you’d like us to report on? Let us know in the comments below and check out our highlight reel with the guys from last years event!
