Netflix bolsters its anime lineup

Streaming site Netflix has announced a slate of new anime originals including exclusives from heavy weight studios such as Production I.G (Ghost in The Shell, Psycho-Pass). With its recent addition Castlevania and soon to be released Assassin’s Creed series, Netflix are looking to gain ground on its rivals Crunchyroll and Funimation.

 

Mainly releasing in 2018, the shows to feature will include:

B: The Beginning (previously titled Perfect Bones)- A story which follows an investigator on the case of a serial killer. A mix of sci-fi, fantasy and drama.

Baki – Based on the titular manga about a mixed martial artists who fights death row inmates

Sword Gai – Fantasy series about a boy who fuses with a demonic sword and battles monsters.

A.I.C.O. Incarnation – With an Akira-esque feel, this series follows a young girl drawn to a dangerous artificial life form secured behind a restricted zone.

Other shows will include Devilman crybaby, Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya and Lost Song. Simulcasts will include Children of the Whales, Cannon Busters and Fate/Apocrypha.
