As we enter November we truly step fot into the dark, the cold but also the festive! From the 24th to 26th November the Hyper Japan Christmas 2017 event takes place at London’s Tobacco Dock featuring a host of goodies and treats that everyone can enjoy.
Japanese food and drink will be a prominent feature this year with the Eat-Japan area “scaled up immensely, overwhelming your taste buds with a heavenly barrage of Japanese food and drink”. A new experience at this years event is the Ramen Experience. Visitors will be able to learn more about this delicious treat as well as sample four distinctly different soup bases and vote for your favourite soup. The Sake cocktail awards will also take centre stage, crowning a winning mixologist at the end of each day based on visitor votes.
Not only will visitors be able to sample a range of heavenly dishes and drinks, but the world of Japanese culture will descend upon Tobacco Dock. From the ancient martial arts displays, tea ceremonies and traditional clothing to modern technology, arts & crafts and music.
Cosplay has always featured heavily at Hyper Japan. This pop-culture marries the world of anime, gaming, manga and comics with the passion and love of their fans. If your into your cosplay, Hyper Japan’s COSParade returns to their Christmas 2017 event described as “a non-competitive masquerade where visitors can show off their hard work to an appreciative audience”. CosTest, the competitive element of the cosplay events sees cosplayers compete for a £150 prize voucher from Tofu Cute but you’ll need to get your entry in by 16th November to enter!
