The Promised Neverland Gets Anime Adaptation

News has recently broken that the hit manga adaptation The Promised Neverland is to receive an anime adaptation in January 2019. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump announced the news which was previously hinted at and the anime’s official site begun streaming a special promo video (below) which features the voices for Emma, Ray and Norman.

Written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu, the manga debuted in August 2016.The English edition of the is serialised by Viz media in their digital English edition of Shonen Jump and Viz are also publishing the volumes in print. They describe the story as follows:

“The children of the Grace Field House orphanage have their happy lives upended when they find out they’re being raised to be fed to demons. Can they escape their fate before it’s too late?”

The manga has received a host of nominations and won the Best Shonen Manga award back in January at the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Awards.
